Pedestrian Bridge Repairs at Dawson Farm Park

Maverick was selected to replace the decking and handrail of the 140-foot-long timber pedestrian bridge. During the demolition process, it was discovered that the entire superstructure needed to be replaced along with two timber piling which were compromised due to shoreline erosion. Maverick worked with the Owner to develop cost saving measures such as installing helical piles in lieu of new timber piles.

 

The revised scope required replacement of 16 timber pile caps, new timber stringers, two new helical piles, and rip rap along the banks of an abutment. During the installation process, Maverick’s crew reset grade along the length of the bridge providing uniformity through the numerous bends and transitions in elevation.
